Fresh from the sacking of Ipswich Town manager Paul Hurst, former Norwich manager Paul Lambert has emerged as the favourite to be Marcus Evans' next managerial appointment at the Tractor Boys.

Lambert, 49, already has eight managerial appointments to his name, starting at Livingston back in 2005 and most recently he oversaw Stoke City's relegation to the Championship before leaving by mutual consent in May.

So is Lambert the right man for Ipswich?

We discuss.....

George Harbey

I think it could be a good appointment.

Things didn’t go too well for him in his last job at Stoke City, but he is an established Championship manager who will certainly take Ipswich out of the relegation zone and lift them off the foot of the table.

Gary Hutchinson

No again.

What has Lambert achieved recently? Nothing.

I’m baffled at this move. They may as well have called up big Mick or Paul Heckingbottom.

I can only see it ending one way.

Jacob Potter

I think it is the right move providing he is given the funds to improve the squad.

If he isn’t given enough funds to transform the squad, then Ipswich will be nailed on to be relegated to League 1 and there is no chance that Lambert will stick around if that is to happen.

Louie Chandler

Probably.

He will get them out of trouble but nothing more, which I am guessing is all Evans really wants at the moment.
