Leeds United will have to win promotion via the play-offs after weekend results ruled them out of a place in the top two.

Wins for Sheffield United and Norwich meant that the Whites had to beat Aston Villa on Sunday to keep their faint hopes alive but they could only manage 1-1 draw.

Their opponents in the play-offs are yet to be confirmed although it will definitely be one of Bristol City, Derby County or Middlesbrough.

But Whites midfielder Mateusz Klich has found the season result harder to stomach, insisting in an interview with the Yorkshire Evening Post that they "deserved" a top-two finish.

Klich scored the controversial opener against Villa on Sunday afternoon, capitalising on a sleeping defence who expected the ball to be kicked out for the injured Jonathan Kodjia.
