‘I’m a bit gutted’ – Many Charlton Athletic fans react to player agreement

Charlton youngster Josh Davison has joined League Two outfit Forest Green Rovers on loan for the remainder of the season.

Having started his playing career with Peterborough, the striker made the switch to The Valley in the summer of 2019, and despite his lack of experience in first-team football, made 10 appearances in all competitions for Lee Bowyer’s relegated side including a number of Championship starts.

However, despite dropping into the third-tier, Davison struggled for opportunities at the beginning of this season – with both of his outings coming in the EFL Trophy before he moved to National League side Woking and scored four times in 13 games.

Which club did Darren Bent sign for when he left Charlton Athletic for £22.28 million?

But following his return to South London, the youngster’s impressive form during the first-half of campaign has earned him a move to The New Lawn, where he’ll spent the rest of the season.

Forest Green currently sit fourth in the League Two standings, with only goal-difference keeping them outside the automatic promotion places, whilst Mark Cooper’s men are just one point off top.
