Jay Stansfield has been earmarked as one of the brightest talents at Fulham this season, and his good form has been rewarded with a first professional contract.

The teenage striker signed for the club in 2019 from Exeter City after completing his secondary school education, and he has been making a name for himself at under-18 and under-23 level.

Stansfield has already scored 22 goals this season as an under-18, his form then earning him a first game at under-23 level in which he scored 11 minutes after coming off the bench.

The form that the youngster has been showing hasn’t gone unnoticed by first-team manager Scott Parker either, who has handed the forward two games at senior level over the past month.

Fulham have been able to produce some good talents over the years, most recently bringing through Marcus Bettinelli, Steven Sessegnon and Ryan Sessegnon to the senior squad. The latter was sold to Tottenham Hotspur last summer for £25 million.
