Birmingham City look to be in for another tough season in the English second tier as they sit in the bottom half of the Championship, after a relatively poor start to the season.

The Blues join a long list of huge clubs who have struggled since falling out of the top flight, following on and off the field disasters.

With that in mind, our team give their thoughts on the most shocking moment at Birmingham City in the last three years....

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

Appointing Steve Cotterill, publicly saying he is the man to take you to the Premier League and then sacking him less than six months later.

The move was bizarre, to begin with, all the injuries and politics going on in the background it was an appointment that was clearly not going to work out.

That to me was bizarre and still is difficult to understand the public backing then ousting the manager five months into a long-term project.

George Dagless

Sacking Gary Rowett.

I'll never understand that really when the Blues were looking strong and then they ended up fighting relegation.

A shocking moment for sure.

Gary Hutchinson

Sacking Rowett and appointing Zola - I'll never ever understand it.

No doubt.

It shaped their future and it’s left them struggling ever since.

I don’t rate Rowett as a manager, but he had them up there at least.
