Aston Villa manager Dean Smith needs to rally his troops, after no win in four has left the Villans nine points off the play-off places and in real risk of falling out of contention for promotion to the Premier League this season.

With Stoke, Derby, Birmingham, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough up next for Smith's side, Villa will need to get back to winning ways quickly if they hope to be in and around the play-offs come May.

So how worried should Villa fans be about missing out on top-six?

We discuss.....

Alfie Burns

“Without promotion, their squad is going to be picked apart, that’s the worry.

“Tammy Abraham will be heading back to Chelsea, whilst Jack Grealish will surely be on the move.

“James Chester and John McGinn could be others to depart too.

“It’s going to be another rebuild job for Dean Smith.”

Gary Hutchinson

“There’s little point in worrying about something you know will happen.

“I’ll go on record right now; it isn’t happening.

“They’re deluded if they think they’re a top six team this season.”

George Harbey

"They are probably resigned to it now to be quite honest.

"Results have been deteriorating for a long while now - Two wins in 12 games is just criminal.

"It’s now looking so unlikely."

Jay Taylor

“I think it will be a 50/50 split on how concerned Villa fans should be.

“On the one hand, this season now looks like a transitional one so there will be some writing the top-six off in order to go again next season.

“And on the other, there will be those worrying about keeping hold of the squad should they not go up again.

“There are so many different opinions in one club let alone all of football that it makes quantifying a majority view rather difficult.”

Jacob Potter

"It should be a huge concern.

"I find it hard to believe that they’ll be breaking into the top six by the end of the season after such a poor run of form.

"I’d say they’re out of contention already, and I’d be worrying if I was a Villa supporter."
