Watford are said to be interested in signing Ilias Chair from Queens Park Rangers this summer, with both The Athletic and the Watford Observer reporting over the past month that the player is on a list of targets at Vicarage Road.

The exciting attacking midfielder racked up eight goals and four assists for the R's in the season just gone and is said to be viewed by the Hornets as a player who could really make the step up to Premier League level after they secured promotion under Xisco Munoz.

It is said however that the West London club are not open to selling their most prized asset and that no formal approach has been made for Chair by any club at the time of writing.

Now aged 23, Chair currently has four years remaining on his current contract at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium and certainly wouldn't come cheap in the transfer market due to the fact that he still has plenty of years of development ahead of him.

There is also said to be interest in the player from club's abroad such as Anderlecht and Club Brugge in Belgium, and Bologna and Genoa in Italy, all of which could cause some form of bidding war this summer for the midfielder's services if they all put offers forward.

QPR are said to have put a £13 million  price tag on the 23-year-old's head and are seemingly unwilling to reduce their valuation of a player who has been one of their main creative forces for a good few seasons now.
