Chris Wilder got his Middlesbrough tenure off to a solid start at the weekend by securing a point against Millwall.

Matt Crooks gave the home side the lead early on but Boro then let the Lions back into the game through a Sol Bamba own goal. They were then unable to break down the Millwall defence and were forced to settle for a draw.

Wilder though will be able to take some positives from the game and will be hoping to turn that one point into three against Preston in midweek.

North End won’t be an easy game for Chris Wilder’s side but in what is another home game against a side struggling at the lower end of the table, the team will certainly fancy their chances.

There is unlikely to be much change from the side that drew with Millwall, especially considering they were largely the better team in that tie.

Boro do have a number of injuries to contend with – and that may mean a slight tweak in attack – but apart from that, it could be business as usual.

That change comes in the form of Andraz Sporar being dropped in favour of Uche Ikpeazu. The Slovenian looked bright in the tie but was subbed off due to picking up a knock. With a such a quick turnaround between games, he might not be risked from the start again in midweek.

Instead, in could come Ikpeazu, who has been dealing with a knock of his own. He could feature more in the game on Tuesday, even if he only starts it and is subbed off at half-time. Either way, he looks like a potential option in attack.

As for the rest of the side, it could be a very similar look. He is likely to be joined in a strikeforce with Duncan Watmore, with a five-man midfield and a three in the centre backline.
