One of the players who is excelling at Derby County under new manager Frank Lampard is Chelsea loanee, midfieder Mason Mount who moved to Pride Park in the summer on a season long loan.

Mount 19, has played in every game so far this season for Derby scoring five goals in all competitions and gaining rave reviews plus interest from England manager Gareth Southgate who has made a point of seeing him play.

But in light of his performances so far this season, could Mount feature for Chelsea next year?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

Yes, but would he feature enough? Look at Foden and Rashford, are they getting the best upbringing by playing in the League Cup?

The new loan proposals are worrying to say the least.

Chelsea have 40 players out on loan right now. They could be limited to six.

Then where would Mount be?

Jay Taylor

If Chelsea decide to play youngsters, they don’t have the best track record recently in terms of bringing young players though.

If Mason Mount can carry on and improve his form and get even better, then there is no reason why he can’t become a regular at Chelsea.

If you are good enough, you’re old enough - it is as simple as that.

Louie Chandler

Any other Premier League side and I would say yes.

He will clearly be good enough to play in the top flight next season but it is hard to see Chelsea changing their approach to their youth system any time soon.
