Sheffield United will hope for a strong end to the season as they look to force their way into the play-offs to give them a chance of what would be a second successive promotion.

The Blades enjoyed a fantastic start to life in the Championship and were keeping pace with the leaders in November, however a serious dip in form means Chris Wilder's men are now ninth as we approach the final eight games of the season.

However, even if they don't make the top six, it has been a superb season for the Yorkshire side and it gives them a real platform to build on for the next campaign.

Here we look a three things Wilder will hope to conclude in the summer that would delight fans...

Okay, so this will be down to the board to initiate talks but if Wilder signs a new long-term deal it will delight the supporters.

The former Northampton boss has performed superbly since taking over and even though he signed a new deal at the start of the season, it's only fair that success is rewarded.

His work won't have gone unnoticed and fans may worry that bigger clubs may come calling in the future.

So, signing a new deal and committing long-term to the club he supports would be a big statement.

The Chelsea goalkeeper has been a great signing this season and has managed to keep out Simon Moore for large parts, who was expected to be number one.

The London club will be open to selling the 24-year old in the summer, with reports suggesting he may be available for a relatively modest fee.

Wilder will hope to act quickly to secure a deal to keep Blackman at Bramall Lane for years to come.

The talented Welsh youngster is one of the most exciting players in the Football League and has been linked with moves to several elite Premier League clubs.

Whilst selling him for a big fee and reinvesting may be tempting, the Blades need to hold onto their better players if they are to progress and Brooks falls into that category.

The interested clubs won't go away but one more year at least out of Brooks could help a promotion push.
