West Brom will be eager to seal some deals in the coming weeks as they prepare for life back in the Championship after a good few years in the Premier League.
Certainly, there will be an adjustment period in 2018/19 and the Baggies just need to make sure that that is as small as possible in order to get among the promotion race from the off.
Signing Bobby Reid, then, as the Bristol Post alludes to the club’s interest, would be a fine start to that but it also makes you wonder, could we see Jay Rodriguez leave thereafter?
Reid hit 21-goals in all competitions last season which, of course, is some going but Rodriguez is arguably a level above and could be off to the Premier League in the summer.
Certainly, there appears to be interest but, as per the Express and Star, the Baggies want £20m+ so a club had better be ready to make a significant offer if they are to have a chance of getting him.
With Reid’s potential arrival in mind, though, might the club be willing to accept such a bid more openly than if they didn’t get the Bristol City man in?
For sure, you’d expect that might be the case.
