Derby County midfielder George Evans is seemingly edging closer to making a full return from a frustrating spell on the sidelines through injury.

The 25-year-old was a key player for Phillip Cocu in the first-half of the season, making a total of 13 appearances for the Rams in all competitions this term.

But the versatile midfielder, also capable of dropping back into defence, has been out of action since December, after he picked up an injury in the aftermath of the 1-0 home defeat to Millwall.

The midfielder sustained a calf injury which has saw him miss Derby's last 14 games in all competitions, but on Monday night, he was back out on the pitch for the under-23s.

Evans featured for 60 minutes in the Rams' Premier League 2 clash with Everton at Goodison Park, as he looks to get invaluable minutes into his legs.

Can you get full marks on this Derby quiz?

In Evans' absence from the first-team, young midfielder Max Bird has emerged as a hugely impressive figure for Cocu's side, producing a series of impressive performances in defensive midfield.

It will be a big ask for Evans to get back into the team straight away, but what would Derby fans do?
