Leeds United are interested in signing Derby County midfielder Louie Sibley, according to Football Insider.

Sibley caught the eye in his breakthrough campaign for the Rams last term, and has established himself as one of the brightest prospects in the EFL right now.

The young midfielder scored five goals for Derby in the second-half of last season, including a hat-trick against Millwall in the first game back following the season's resumption.

Sibley has since become a key player under Phillip Cocu, and has recently been rewarded with a new four-year deal, keeping him at Pride Park until 2024.

Leeds, though, are now said to be plotting a late move for the young playmaker, with the transfer window closing on Friday afternoon.

Leeds recently saw a move for Michael Cuisance break down as Marcelo Bielsa looks to add another creative midfielder to his squad at Elland Road, with his sights now set on Sibley.

After recently signing a new long-term deal at Pride Park, Sibley is clearly a player at the forefront of Derby's thinking for the long run, and it would be a surprise to see them cash in right now.
