Following a mixed start to the season, Baggies boss Darren Moore could well look to the loan market to reinforce his defensive line.

This follows some good transfer business for Moore during the summer but results suggest that he may not be finished yet.

The Sun's Alan Nixon has suggested that West Brom are eyeing a loan swoop for Crystal Palace defender Joel Ward., with the versatile player not a guaranteed first-team starter at Palace.

Could experienced defender Joel Ward of Crystal Palace be a good loan signing for the Baggies?

The whole 'view to buy' thing is surely just a way of getting around the transfer window isn't it?  I'm not a fan, it leads to situations such as Benik Afobe where players are bought and immediately sold at profit like something from a Cash and Carry.

Sure, Joel Ward would be a good signing for West Brom, he's experienced and could do a job this season, but then in May he could be signed on his option and immediately passed on for half a million in the back.

It doesn't sit well with me at all.

Jay Williams

If they pull this off, it'd be a class signing.

Right-back is an area where the Baggies are in need of reinforcements, especially if Craig Dawson wants to leave in January.

Ward has vast experience in the Premier League and is at a perfect age where he is in the prime of his career.

Although the 28-year-old is not a headline-grabber with his displays, he is always consistent and very rarely has a bad game so West Brom capturing him for Championship football is a coup.

George Dagless

He'd be ideal.

Ward might not be playing much for Palace this season and so a move to West Brom makes sense.

They could do with another option at full-back and Ward would certainly provide some decent quality.

Jay Taylor

It would certainly be a good move for the player.

West Brom are yet to keep a clean sheet this season and they look a little light at the back.

Ward would add Premier League quality to a team who have aspirations of being back there next season.

It would be a sensible move for Darren Moore who recruited well during the summer.

Sam Rourke

This'd be a class signing.

Ward has had a number of seasons of playing top-flight football, and he should excel in second tier with West Bromwich Albion.

Ward's versatility makes him a useful option too.
