Leeds United have failed to win a single game in the absence of Samuel Saiz.

The forward picked up a six-match suspension for a spitting incident at the end of the humiliating 2-1 FA Cup Third Round defeat at the hands of League Two outfit Newport County and Leeds, now managed by Paul Heckingbottom, have only picked up one league point in that time.

He still has one match of that ban to serve and Heckingbottom will hope to secure his first win, despite that absence, as he looks to get his Elland Road reign when they host high-flying Bristol City on Sunday.

Given how poorly Leeds have coped without the talismanic Saiz, we have taken a look at what Leeds United should do if he departs the club in the summer on a permanent basis.

Here are three signings that Heckingbottom needs to consider if he loses one of his top man in Saiz in the summer...

Leeds have already been linked with Gallar, who has been spearheading a promotion charge at SD Huesca in the Spanish second division this season.

The 25-year-old has five goals and as many assists from 24 league appearances this term and has become integral to their plans of getting into the big time.

If he manages to be part of a promotion winning side, that would only make him more enticing to Leeds, who lack players who know how to climb out of a division.

There are always question marks over how players from other countries will adapt to English football but if he takes to it like Saiz did, he could be a roaring success at Elland Road.

It is easy to forget that Hoilett was among the most highly rated players in the Premier League around the time he left Blackburn Rovers.

He attracted attention from numerous clubs, including Bayern Munich, but took a poor career move, joining Queens Park Rangers.

That left Neil Warnock to rebuild the form and confidence of the winger and he has done just that - the Canadian winger has 10 goals and eight assists to his name in all competitions this term - I have been hugely impressed with him.

He is versatile, quick and knows English football very well. If Cardiff don't manage to get into the top flight this season, Leeds should be sniffing around.

A raid across Yorkshire is bound to be controversial but I believe that Reach is a player with all the talent to make the difference at Elland Road.

He is a different type of player to Saiz, more technical, slower but with reliable delivery and the ability to play on either flank.

Sheffield Wednesday would no doubt be reluctant to see him leave but considering the poor season they've had - there is still a chance they could drop into the relegation mix - Leeds look a more enticing prospect right now.

The former Boro man is still just 25, with his best years to come, and would add something to Leeds' attacking options, no doubt.
