Football League World's Fulham fan pundit David Gadd has assessed what needs to be done in the January transfer window to ensure his club are where they should be come the end of the season.

Before the campaign got under way, the South West Londoners were installed as one of the favourites to win promotion to the Premier League, just a year after being relegated from the top-tier, but Gadd believes that the January window could well prove crucial.

"I think the main priority is to add some more depth and quality to this side in some key areas like at both full backs, the goalkeeper and some back up for Mitrovic," the regular puntre told Football League World.

"Whether all that will happen in January I don’t know, but if the club are serious about being automatically promoted this season then I think this all needs to happen as soon as we can."

January largely saw Scott Parker tweak his Premier League squad, rather than completely overhauling it, bringing in the likes of Ivan Cavaleiro and Anthony Knockaert on loan to bolster the wings as well as the likes of Bobby Decordova-Reid and Harry Arter to bolster other areas.

However, with 15 matches played, they are probably not as close to the summit of the division as they will have hoped, currently sat in eighth place and seven points behind table-toppers West Brom.

They will be desperate to bounce back from their convincing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Hull City on Saturday when they travel to Birmingham City.
