Sheffield Wednesday have had a rollercoaster ride of a season, but under Steve Bruce, they seem to be finishing the season strongly.

The Owls had a season to forget in the first half of this year's campaign, and Jos Luhukay was subsequently dismissed from the managerial post after a poor run of results.

Steve Bruce replaced him, and Sheffield Wednesday have looked like a completely different team since the former Aston Villa boss took charge.

The former Manchester United man has brought a number of players back into the first-team picture, who were previously frozen out by Luhukay.

They've certainly made an impact as well, as their good run of form in recent weeks has seen them move up the table at a rapid rate.

A top six finish can't be ruled out as well, with Bruce's side currently sat six points adrift of the play-off places with just four games remaining of their season.

One man that has been at the heart of their impressive run of results is goalkeeper, Kieren Westwood, who had previously been frozen out of the first-team picture by Jos Luhukay.

But the shot-stopper has certainly made up for lost time in the Sheffield Wednesday squad and has won his side crucial points as they look to keep their play-off ambitions alive.

The Irishman is out of contract at the end of the season, which has raised interest from Huddersfield Town (according to The Sun) as they look to adjust to life back in the Championship.

But for Sheffield Wednesday, you have to feel that they would be making a huge mistake if they were to let his contract with the club expire in the summer.

Westwood has been with the club for a number of years and has been a reliable member of the squad and is vastly experienced.

Sheffield Wednesday won't find a better option out there in the summer, and if they were to let his contract run down in the summer, then serious questions have to be asked by the supporters about the ambitions of the club going forward.
