Victory over Reading last time out made it five wins in seven for Sheffield Wednesday who can look forward to next season with a bit of optimism now.

Of course, it can't detract from what has been a poor campaign on the whole, however there incredible injury crisis, that has robbed them of all their best players at some point, has been a big reason for that.

Yet, despite that valid excuse, there's still work that needs to be done on the squad and manager Jos Luhukay will have spent the last few months assessing what needs to be done this summer.

Here we look at four players he would have to go for if he was given a big budget at Hillsborough in the coming months...

With Luhukay favouring a a back three formation, he will need to add to his squad defensively and one quality addition would be Liam Moore.

Even with Reading struggling, the former Leicester man has done reasonably well and is a very complete defender.

He is quick, strong and also capable on the ball which is crucial in Luhukay's formation, so would be an ideal signing.

With the likes of Jacob Butterfield and Dave Jones not convincing this season, Luhukay will need to focus on bringing in quality midfielder players.

And, Norwood falls into that category in the Championship.

He has a good all-round game and importantly is very good on the ball from deep positions which is something the Owls lack.

Unless Fernando Forestieri is playing, Wednesday can often be predictable going forward and they need someone who can provide that bit of magic alongside the Argentinian.

Powell could be that man after having a very impressive season for Wigan in League One and should take to the Championship with ease.

He would cost a lot but Powell could transform Wednesday going forward.

Wednesday have a lot of strikers available but none quite like Bonatini.

His goal record in the second half of the season is alarming and it's why Wolves probably won't sign him, however he brings a lot more than just goals.

The Brazilian is an ideal link-up man, boasting a great first touch and is intelligent with his movement.
