Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa may have to plan for life without striker Kemar Roofe after the summer, following reports that Newcastle United are continuing to monitor the 26-year-old, as reported in the Chronicle.

Roofe is currently out injured but has already had an impressive season with 14 goals and two assists in 26 appearances for the Whites, in a season that has been by far his best since arriving at Elland Road in 2016.

So Should Leeds fans be concerned about Newcastle still tracking Roofe?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

"I don't think so.

"If he is going to leave it will not be until the end of the season and even then I think Leeds could get a better striker in.

"Roofe has done a great job this season but I am not sure he would be of Premier League quality."

Jacob Potter

"They shouldn’t be concerned.

"Roofe has flourished under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa and it would take some offer to prize him away from Elland Road.

"He wouldn’t be a regular starter there either, so there’s no need to panic if you’re a Leeds supporter."

Gary Hutchinson

“Not really.

“Roofe is a decent player but if they’re careful, they could sign someone to replace him.

“If Bamford is fit, I can see him being the top dog anyway.

“Then they can cash in on Roofe and use the money elsewhere.”

Alfie Burns

“If promotion isn’t achieved, then panic.

“However, for now, all Leeds should be focusing on is Roofe’s fitness and getting him back up to speed ASAP.

“Promotion changes everything and the Whites shouldn’t be thinking about the summer.”

Jay Taylor

“It’s part and parcel of football; teams will scout potential signings and Newcastle keeping tabs of Roofe is no different.

“If it wasn’t the Magpies, it could well be another team so there is nothing they can do about it.

“Leeds fans can worry, but players who do well are going to get interest in them – it’s a by-product of success, and if Bielsa’s side continue to improve, they better get used to it.”
