Nottingham Forest really have caught the imagination this season so far with some of their football and results in the second tier.

The men from the City Ground could have been forgiven for going into this campaign just wanting a year of stability in the Championship but, after finding themselves in the play-offs at this early stage, expectations are shifting.

Naturally, then, the Reds' supporters want to see their early season form continue into a sustained surge but there's one thing they need to address if that is to continue - their defence.

Whilst it's by no means awful, it is certainly leaky and the issue of scoring a good amount and conceding just as many from last year seems to still be sticking around.

Indeed, the Tricky Trees have conceded more than anyone else in the top half of the table at this early stage and so it's time Mark Warburton rolls the dice and brings in Aston Villa outcast Tommy Elphick.

It's not worked at all for the defender at Villa and he's bound to be up for a move with him far down the pecking order at Villa Park.

He is a solid defender, though, and showed that in a rare outing against Wigan earlier this week in the Carabao Cup whilst he is also well versed in getting promotion from his days with Bournemouth.

Of course, it's not the most glamourous, stand-out signing in the world but it's solid, and that really is all Forest need at the moment.
