Nottingham Forest seem to be out of the dark and safe this season, but it has been far from an impressive season for Forest.

18-year-old forward Ben Brereton has been a regular leading the line upfront for Forest and they will surely be after another Brereton, despite his lack of goals so far this season.

With Karanka's men situated in mid-table and pretty much safe from the threat of relegation, the Spaniard will be looking ahead to the summer transfer window to identify players that he can sign to launch an assault on the top six.

Forest will be looking for new additions this summer to add to their ranks and we've outlined these two players as potential great new recruits that could be as good as Brereton...

Jack Marriott is the star of the show at Peterborough United.

The former Luton Town frontman has been banging them in for the Posh this season and he would be a serious coup for Forest.

With years ahead of him to develop and mature as a footballer, Marriott would be a wise addition for the Reds.

Isaac Vassell has been thoroughly missed at St Andrews this season as he recovers from a knee ligament injury at the end of October against West Midlands rivals Aston Villa.

Vassell is a proven goalscorer at this level, having signed from Luton Town in the summer.

With Birmingham City struggling this season, and far from out of hot water in a relegation battle, Vassell will be working to get back to fitness next season.

If the Blues suffer relegation, then Vassell could be looking for a move to stay in the Championship, and could certainly find a place at Nottingham Forest - making that short move to the City Ground.
