Leeds United have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season, with Marcelo Bielsa’s men currently leading the way in the Championship.

The respected Argentinian coach has the Whites playing some superb football and it’s even more impressive when you consider most of the players featured in the side that struggled to a bottom half finish last season.

One of those who has gone up a level under Bielsa is Kemar Roofe, with the forward scoring seven goals in ten games so far.

As well as that, he has shone with his excellent movement, work-rate and overall game, which is crucial to the way the Yorkshire side play, both with and without the ball.

Therefore, it was very surprising to see journalist Phil Hay reveal the club are prepared to wait before talking about a new deal with the 25-year-old. Particularly because he has just over 18 months left on his current deal.

That has prompted speculation that Roofe could depart in January, and here, we look at THREE players Leeds should be considering as potential replacements…

The Rangers star will cost and may take some persuading to move to the Championship, but he has all the attributes to thrive in a Bielsa team.

Morelos works hard, but more importantly is a real goalscorer. He would get plenty of chances in this team and could give them a real cutting edge in the final third.

Bielsa requires players to work hard and press from the front, and the powerful Adams would bring that to the team.

After a mixed few years at Birmingham he is starting to find his feet and is delivering on that undoubted potential.

Again, Blues would be reluctant to sell, but a good offer could tempt them with their financial situation.

This is another deal that would be tough to close, but Leeds would need to target quality to replace Roofe and Maja falls into that category.

The Sunderland man is flying in League One and looks capable of making the step up to the Championship with ease.

He too has the physical attributes Bielsa wants in a player, and given his age, he could flourish in the years to come under the former Marseille boss’ guidance.
