West Brom seem to have steered themselves back on course in recent weeks following a shaky patch that saw Darren Moore lose his job.

Moore was sacked as manager just over a month ago now and they remain under the stewardship of stand-in Jimmy Shan as the hunt for a new permanent boss continues.

But it has not exactly gone badly under Shan, with the Baggies winning all three of their matches so far, seeing off Swansea, Brentford and Birmingham City.

And the players themselves are also happy with the job that their stand-in boss, with more experienced members of the squad speaking favourably of his impact, reports Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports News.

There are just seven games of the current season remaining and it is looking more and more like he will be there until the end of the season.

But what should we make of this player stance?

We discuss…

George Harbey

“It’s just like Moore all over again.

“When he first came into the club, he raised everyone’s spirits and gave them a new lease of life.

“Is he good enough to take them forward long term? No.”

Jacob Potter

“I'm surprised by this.

“I think West Brom need more stability and they can get that with a recognised, experienced manager in charge.

“I can't see Shan being the long-term solution.

Toby Wilding

“If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.

“Shan has made the perfect start to his time in charge of The Baggies to put them back on track for a play-off finish at the very least.

“Changing that now, particularly if the squad are happy, could only serve to provide an unnecessary distraction over the crucial weeks to come.”
