Stoke City are on the lookout for a new boss after sacking Nathan Jones last week, with former boss Tony Pulis linked with another spell at the club.

The experienced former West Brom boss is a well-respected figure in Staffordshire after spending ten years with the Potters over two periods, with his seven-year tenure from 2006 particularly productive.

After winning promotion, Pulis established Stoke as a Premier League side and even took them into Europe, although a section of fans were not happy with the style of play over the years.

Nevertheless, they are in a desperate situation right now and some supporters took to Facebook to say that Pulis is exactly what they need as they look to survive in the second-tier.

The side are currently six points from safety and have won just twice in 15 league games this season.

Here we look at some of the comments from social media to the idea that Pulis is needed to succeed Jones...

James Eardley: Only Pulis can save us

Mark France: Get Tony in and now

Bri Hulme: If he keeps us up give him the key to the city

Jeanette Clutton: No one can

Alan Lloyd: TP won't come. Mr Coates that sacked him anyway, who can blame him. Heard Baggies manager say Stoke are in crisis.

William Morgan: Oh I remember when we were in the Premier. How nearly everybody slated him for the football. It was Pulis out, how some things have changed. Stoke fans are so fickle.
