Sheffield Wednesday are going well in this season's Championship and you wouldn't rule them out going all the way come the end of the campaign.

And you've got to give plenty of credit to manager Carlos Carvalhal, who has come to Hillsborough and done some fantastic work in his short tenure in charge.

Right now, the Owls are on the brink of the play-offs and sit just six points off the top of the table, which is pretty good stuff indeed.

But one of the lower points in this season's campaign was the whole Fernando Forestieri saga, which saw him nearly leave in the January transfer window.

The issue was quickly resolved by the club, but the Italian's good form means he's still somewhat being linked with a move away from the club.

So with a move away this summer still not being ruled out, should the Owls be preparing for the worst if he does move on?

We want to consider that possibility, so with that in mind, here's THREE striking replacements who would be perfect if Forestieri does move on...

Ashley Fletcher

West Ham United striker Ashley Fletcher is a player who is craving permanent first-team minutes.

Despite their struggles, West Ham United have a pool of talented strikers, that mean its difficult for the former Manchester United man to really break in to Slaven Bilic's senior side.

But a move to Wednesday would be absolutely fantastic for his development going forward.

He has Football League experience from his time on-loan with Barnsley last season and another loan deal or even a permanent move would be brilliant for Wednesday.

Jerome Sinclair

Watford striker Jerome Sinclair has really struggled to break into the first-team fold at Vicarage Road after his summer move from Liverpool.

The pacy forward, who left Anfield to join Walter Mazzarri's team in a £4million deal hasn't been as fruitful as he might have liked.

He's not played for the first-team this season and opportunities are looking slim with Hayden, Deeney and Ighalo being the manager's favourites going forward.

A move to Wednesday would wield more game-time and the chance to build back up to the Premier League once again.

Adam Armstrong

armstrong

Newcastle United forward Adam Armstrong is currently enjoying a successful spell with fellow Championship outfit Barnsley, but the chances of him breaking back into the Toon side come the end of the campaign is unlikely.

He'd have to get in-front of the likes of Mitrovic, Murphy, Perez, Gayle and even Toney and Riviere, who are currently out on-loan.

That's one hell of a list to have to jump and we think a better move might be to Hillsborough.

Wednesday are one of a handful of sides that are edging ever-closer to the Premier League and if Armstrong moved to Yorkshire, he could really help them get into the top flight, if they are unsuccessful this time out.
