Barnsley will be looking to use every last minute of the transfer window this month as they aim to strengthen their squad.

The Tykes have had an okay season so far but they'll certainly be aiming to pull away from the drop zone sooner rather than later with them too close for comfort to the battle at the bottom.

Indeed, if they cannot string results together they will be drawn in closer to the drop and so Paul Heckingbottom will surely be looking to try and get some extra players to bolster his squad this month.

He might just dip into the loan market to see what he can find, then, and so, with that in mind, here are two players that might help their survival bid.

Conor Masterson

Masterson is a young defender which is a risk but he is progressing quickly at Liverpool and could relish the challenge of Championship football.

We wouldn't advise him to play every game but he'd be a good option to have in the squad and certainly someone that could contribute.

Barnsley have a knack of using good young players to their advantage and Masterson is someone who could be part of that process.

Jerome Sinclair

Remember him?

Sinclair is the man who left Liverpool for Watford looking for first team football but has so far not been able to really find it for the Hornets.

A loan deal away could be ideal for him, then, and he certainly still has the potential and ability to do a good job for Barnsley.

Again, he's still quite young and if he gets firing the Tykes could have a real player on their hands.
