Charlton will be hoping that a change in ownership will coincide with an upturn in form in League One.

The Addicks are currently nine points adrift of the play-offs places and recently appointed Dean Holden as their head coach after parting ways with Ben Garner.

The Verdict

Given that the Lenagan family have previous experience of overseeing proceedings at a Football League club, they may turn out to be the right group of people to lead Charlton into a new dawn.

The Addicks' aim in the coming years will be to secure a return to the Championship before establishing themselves as a mainstay in this division.

In order to have the best chance of achieving this goal, the aforementioned prospective owners will need to provide some investment in future true transfer windows.

With speculation continuing to swirl surrounding a takeover deal, Holden will be focusing on the on the field matters in the coming weeks.

Having secured back-to-back victories in League One over Portsmouth and Lincoln City, Charlton will now be aiming to cause a major upset in the Carabao Cup when they face Manchester United in the quarter-finals of this competition on Tuesday.
