Eddie Howe is reportedly set to raid former club Bournemouth to bring coaches Stephen Purches and Simon Weatherstone, and technical director Richard Hughes to Celtic with him.

The 43-year-old is yet to be appointed but it is understood he remains on course to take charge at Parkhead – though his arrival may have to wait until the end of the month due to a potential pay-out from the Cherries.

Reports have been circling over the past few months suggesting that Howe is keen to bring some of his former Bournemouth colleagues with him north of the border, which is another reason why he's waiting to take charge.

The Daily Record has revealed the identity of the trio that the English coach is planning to raid his former club for.

It has previously been suggested that Hughes is a target and as well as confirming that the report claims that Purches and Weatherstone are also set to join him at Celtic.

It remains to be seen whether their potential move north of the border would be hindered if Bournemouth are promoted to the Premier League this season.

The Cherries beat Brentford in their play-off semi-final first leg on Monday, giving them a 1-0 lead to take into the second leg on Saturday with a place in the Wembley final on the 29th of May on the line.

The Verdict

While it has seemed for some time that Howe was keen to raid Bournemouth for staff, we now have a clarification on exactly who he is targeting.

A rebuilding job needs to be done at Celtic, so bringing his own people in makes a lot of sense.

The Daily Record seems to be suggesting that agreements have been made but you have to wonder whether promotion to the Premier League could prove an obstacle.
