Blackpool will be hoping that the 2019/20 season provides a new chapter in their history on the pitch after several changes off of it.

2018/19 proved a landmark year for the Tangerines.

A long-awaited change at the very top of the club was initiated - and finalised earlier this summer - whilst fans began to flock back to Bloomfield Road to see their club play.

On the pitch, there were hopes for a play-off challenge right to the final weeks of the campaign, which was impressive in itself, and so for this coming season there is rightly optimism around the seaside town.

It looks as though they're not finished in the transfer market yet, either, with Pool apparently identifying Ben Tollitt - formerly of Tranmere - as their next arrival.

This update came, eventually, from Alan Nixon on Twitter:

After a brief spellcheck error on Twitter, Nixon confirmed that it is indeed Tollitt who appears to be on the way to the Tangerines.

The Verdict

There appears to be a new dawn at Blackpool at the moment and that is being reflected by some of the signings they are making.

They've made some impressive deals work for them already this summer and it looks as though they are not stopping yet.

At 24-years-old, Tollitt is ready to enter his prime years and impressed on loan at Wrexham last season, scoring a handful of goals in his appearances in the National League.

He's got experience of playing for a Football League club - albeit briefly - with Portsmouth, and will want to show he's ready to take on League One with the north-west side.
