‘I’d take that all day long’ – Plenty of Charlton fans are getting excited about this potential new signing

Charlton Athletic are the favourites to sign Rangers’ Greg Docherty on-loan for the rest of the season, according to Glasgow Times.

The 23-year-old has been exiled by Steven Gerrard at Rangers this season, and now it’s looking like a loan-move back across the border is on the cards.

Docherty spent last season on-loan at Shrewsbury Town where he played 41 times in the league, scoring seven and being named Shrewsbury’s Player of the Year.

But his career at Ibrox is yet to get under way, and now he’s set to seek another loan-move after not making a single appearance in the Scottish Premiership all season.

Charlton meanwhile are yet to really break the transfer market this month – Andre Green has arrived on-loan from Aston Villa, but most of the transfer talk has been about outgoings, Lyle Taylor the subject.

Here we take a look at Charlton fans’ reactions on Facebook to the transfer news around Docherty:

Craig Redmond: Anyone would be a good signing at this point.

William English: Yes, good work rate, can score and assists.

Chris Morris: Would take Basil Brush at the minute, can see him legging it down the wing.

Peter Herridge: Yes, we need to make signings so it’d be a start.

Davie Goldsmith: Think they want (Lyle) Taylor in exchange.

Seb Lewis: Wouldn’t surprise me (replying to above).

Andy Loveridge: I’d take that all day long.
