‘I’d take him’ – Many Bristol City fans react to emerging transfer news

Bristol City extended their winning Championship run to two matches following a 1-0 victory at rivals Cardiff City on Friday night.
Chris Martin’s 2nd-minute strike was enough to ensure the Robins will spend the international break in the top-six.
But even more pleasing for City boss Dean Holden would have been the fact his side managed to keep their first clean sheet since the end of September and only third of their league campaign.
But Holden isn’t resting on his laurels after Bristol City Live revealed that the Robins are keen on bolstering their defensive numbers with the signing of free agent and former Watford and Reading defender Adrian Mariappa.
City face stiff competition from a host of their Championship rivals as they look to bring in reinforcements to cover for the injured Nathan Baker and on-loan Fulham man Alfie Mawson.
Here, we’ve been looking at how Bristol City fans have responded to the links with Mariappa – and it’s far to say that plenty would welcome the signing of the 34-year-old.

I seem to remember that he scored one of the greatest own goals ever…is that correct? https://t.co/uPCwLDW2xa

Could be a good signing, bit of a risk but could pay off as well

Any news on Nathan Baker?. He normally has Christmas off, but back Jan?

Both Mawson and baker are very likely to get injured again anyway. Definitely need cover and Mariappa would be reasonable to have on the books.
