Bolton Wanderers play host to Sunderland tonight in what is a massive game at the bottom of the Sky Bet Championship.

Black Cats boss Chris Coleman will be desperate to get a victory after their depressing 2-0 defeat to Brentford last time out.

One player who will be itching for a start is young forward Josh Maja.

Should Coleman throw the young striker into tonight's starting eleven?

We discuss....

Sam Preston

On the face of it, Joel Asoro hasn't set the world alight lately and Maja is worth a shot.

My only worry is that a front two of Maja and Ashley Fletcher doesn't offer much in the way of pace.

However, Sunderland clearly need a change of approach so maybe the intelligence of Maja to link the play is just what they need.

George Dagless

I'd start him - What has Coleman got to lose?

This is a huge game against Bolton tonight which they simply have to try and win.

Sunderland need to be bold with their line-up, then, and Maja is the kind of person who could cause the Trotters issues.

Chris Gallagher

Not for me, I'd use him as an impact sub.

Coleman should revert back to a 3-4-3 formation and if he does Ashley Fletcher should be the main striker.

He hasn't been fantastic since arriving from Boro but he has a better all-round game than Maja.

The youngster will still have a role to play as a sub though.

Alfie Burns

Coleman needs to try something different, with things looking bleak for Sunderland in the Championship.

Throwing Maja a place in the starting XI wouldn’t be a bad place to start, with the forward bringing a rawness that some others don’t.

Victory tonight is key for Sunderland, and it is time Coleman was brave with his selection.
