Manchester United's Scott McTominay is a wanted man, with Leeds United and Aston Villa potentially handed a green light to seal the midfielder's signature in January.

The Scottish international has become somewhat of a forgotten man at Old Trafford despite being crowned Jose Mourinho's Player of the Season last term, after a string of impressive performances.

The 21-year old could become Dean Smith's first signing as Aston Villa boss as he looks to turn the tide around at Villa Park after a dismal start to the season.

Here, we discuss whether McTominay would be a good signing for Villa...

Gary Hutchinson

He would be an asset there, but I can't see it happening.

They've got plenty of players in that midfield role, they need defenders.

McTominay is a class player though, he would boost their ranks.

George Harbey
There's no doubt that McTominay would be a shrewd signing for Villa because of his quality, but I don't think that they desperately need him. It's clear that a centre-half should 100% be the main priority for Villa, so if they can find one before signing McTominay - then go for it.
Jacob Potter
With John McGinn nailing his place in the starting XI, you have to consider where he would fit in this side.
For me, I would say its a bad move to go there. He needs regular game time and I'm not sure he would get it at Villa.
