‘I’d rather see Yates given a chance’ – Twitter reacts to news that Nottingham Forest loan star earns a reported £40,000 per-week

News has emerged recently, courtesy of the Nottingham Post, that Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback is reluctant to leave the Magpies given that he has one year left to run on a contract worth £40,000 per-week, a sum which could price him out of a move to Nottingham Forest where he spent the second part of last season on loan.
His excessive wage might not seem a lot in today’s wage but with Financial Fair Play hanging over football clubs these days Forest could be forced to shop for an alternative this summer.
Colback was impressive during his stint at the City Ground scoring once in 28 appearances and boss Aitor Karanka clearly rates the former Sunderland man as a player who can improve his squad.
As always when something like this emerges, people take to social media to share their thoughts and Football League World writer Lee Clarke has the round-up as Twitter reacts to this Colback news…

No problem, plenty more fish in the sea.

If he doesn't want to come to Forest & play every week, then let him rot & move onto a player that does.

Rather see Yates given a go tbh

Was always going to be the case. Got to say for the wages he's on even though he's decent there are others.

Another example of a player wanting to see out his contract rather than play the game we all wish we could

Good. We don't want Colback type players. Better players out there and won't cost as much

He's turned himself into a hate figure at NUFC.
Becoming vilified amongst our fan base.
