News has emerged this morning that former Barcelona striker Thierry Henry is a shock candidate to take over from Steve Bruce at Villa Park.

The 40-year old hasn't entered into management as yet, but he has been coaching Belgium under Roberto Martinez as they finished third in the World Cup. His playing credentials couldn't be any better, with Premier League titles behind him, as well as a World Cup win and a European Championship win.

He recently gave up his role as a pundit to focus on becoming a manager, which seems to have piqued the interest of Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, the duo behind a £30m takeover of Villa, announced yesterday.

The news that a football legend could soon be arriving on their doorstep was met by a degree of scepticism on Twitter, with a number of fans dubious not only as to his lack of experience, but also the damage that could be done by switching managers so close to the beginning of the season.

Here's a selection of responses from Twitter, highlighting the concerns of some fans.
