Sunderland are in dire straits in the Championship, as they sit in 23rd position in what has been a dreadful campaign for the Black Cats.

Chris Coleman's side need a spark from somewhere, and you only need to look at the players they have shipped out on loan.

It makes you think what impact they could have in the current Black Cats side.

One being Wahbi Khazri, the 27-year-old winger has been excelling for Rennes in France and looks like a player that Sunderland could do with.

Would Khazri walk into Sunderland's current starting eleven?

We discuss....

Sam Preston

He'd walk in. I'd play him as a number 10, just behind the two young strikers and tell him to go and win games.

Sunderland lack players who can provide inspiration and he certainly is one of those.

His attitude is the only question mark but that is where Coleman's man management would need to come into play.

Adam Simeoni

I’ve always rated Khazri, and I could never understand why he wasn’t played on a regular basis at Sunderland.

The player would easily make his way into this Black Cats side, with their current options looking dreadful.

George Dagless

It's a strange one.

He's been in good form over in France and that would suggest he'd get into the side for sure.

He's never really been consistent enough but if he did show his full talent then I'd suggest that he would.

Alfie Burns

I’d have him in there somewhere, yes.

Sunderland lack real quality within their squad, and Khazri would be one player who could hand Coleman’s side a real edge.
