New Derby County manager Phillip Cocu has an immediate decision to make regarding one of his players, amid reports that Schalke boss David Wagner is keen to take winger Florian Jozefzoon to the Bundesliga, according to Football Insider.

Jozefzoon, 28, scored two goals in 27 appearances at Pride Park, having moved to the club in the summer of 2018 in a £2.75m deal from Brentford.

So should Derby look to sell Jozefzoon?

We discuss........

Gary Hutchinson

“I don’t think they should, no.

“It could be argued he didn’t have the impact everyone expected at Derby. When he signed there it was big news and I suspect fans thought he was going to create goals, score goals and see them to a top two finish.

“He scored two and made one, that’s not a great start. However, I think he could be in a position to put that difficult first season behind him and give the Rams a return on their investment.

“Football these days is too disposable. Players and managers are cast aside if they don’t have an immediate impact. I think Jozefzoon could be a slow burner at Pride Park and I back him to have a good season.”

George Dagless

"I'd imagine they're tempted.

"It was an impressive signing when it was first announced but it just didn't seem to work for the former Brentford man at Pride Park.

"Phillip Cocu might want to see what he brings but if a good offer comes in then they must be tempted to just cash in and move on.

"A move to play in the top flight in Germany doesn't come around often either so it's one he might want to see happen."

George Brooks

"I think Derby should consider selling Jozefzoon this summer.

"Jozefzoon struggled to make an impact for Derby last season and failed to hold down a regular spot in their starting XI.

"If he is not in new manager Phillip Cocu's plans for next season, then it would make sense for him to leave the club this summer and although it might seem harsh, he probably wouldn't be missed that much.

"Jozefzoon has two years remaining on his contract at Pride Park, so Derby are in a strong position when it comes to negotiating with rival clubs and they could be able to get a decent fee for him.

"Selling him makes perfect sense, especially if the club are hoping to make one or two new signings before the end of the transfer window."
