The promotion race in the Championship is undoubtedly one of the most competitive for many a year, with a number of sides in with realistic promotion aspirations this season.

In amongst these sides are some players of obvious star quality and two of the best midfielders in the league are undoubtedly Jack Grealish of Aston Villa and Pablo Hernandez of Leeds United.

Both have made major contributions to their respective sides this season, but who is better Grealish or Hernandez?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

"At the moment, Hernandez.

"They are both obviously brilliant but I think in terms of consistency you have to side with the Spaniard.

"If the Villa man can get a run of games going then he will overtake him, however."

Jay Taylor

“I'd have to say Grealish – based on age and potential.

“Hernandez is in the twilight of his career and this season is like an Indian summer for the attacker – a renaissance, if you will.

“The Leeds man has had a better season – statistics-wise - but I think the Villa man is the better of the two overall, as he has more potential.”

Gary Hutchinson

“Hernandez, all day long.

“He’s consistent, he’s experienced and he edges this one.

“Grealish didn’t have a good start to the season and he’s got a lot to learn.

“That said, from a financial point of view, I’d rather my team had Grealish.”
