‘I’d give him until January’ – The future of Lee Johnson at Bristol City

Published

Bristol City travel to Championship basement club Ipswich Town midweek, looking to end a run of four straight defeats, that has seen the Robins drop to 14th in the table, 14 points off leaders Norwich City.

It is a situation that manager Lee Johnson needs to address quickly, if he is to steady the ship and avoid a descent into a relegation battle.

Or actually, is it time up for Johnson and should he get the boot at Bristol City?

We discuss…..

Things are going that way after four straight defeats – but there is still plenty of time for Lee Johnson to turn things around.

If the poor form continues then questions will be asked more vehemently than they might be now.

There could well be a decision to make, but only if Bristol City fail to arrest the abhorrent slump that is currently plaguing them.

Gary Hutchinson

I think he will, but I’m not sure it’s justified.

Look at the players he’s lost recently, yet they’re still in the Championship.

Last season they punched well above their weight, this time out they’re settled into a far tougher division.

Chairmen are trigger happy, rightly or wrongly.

George Harbey

Johnson’s been at Ashton Gate for a long long time and City haven’t shown any signs of progression under his management.

I’d give him until January, to see if he can turn this run of form around – otherwise it should be curtains for him
