Birmingham City manager Pep Clotet will be looking for three points from his side when they face struggling Stoke City at St Andrew's this weekend.

One boost for Clotet ahead of the weekend is the return of loan winger Jefferson Montero who has only managed 10 minutes of football for the Blues since his deadline day move from Swansea City, in the league victory over Barnsley.

So should Clotet look to start the 29-year-old against Stoke City this weekend?

We discuss........

George Dagless

"I'd consider it.

"Montero has the ability to inject some pace and directness to the Birmingham side and a wobbling Stoke team won't fancy that much at all.

"The Potters are struggling to put any results together but will feel as though they can get something out of this clash.

"In playing Montero the Blues have a bit of a wildcard that could leave them having the edge for this fixture."

Louie Chandler

"I don't think so.

"Clotet seems to be determined to implement a five at the back system with wing-backs employed rather than out-and-out wingers.

"So I don't think it would say much for his faith in the system if he dropped it now just to accommodate Montero - unless he feels he can fit.

"But I think the Ecuadorian should have to prove himself from the bench a bit more regardless before he is considered for a start."

Ben Lang

"I would be sceptical about starting Montero as soon as he is available, but I think he could certainly add a welcome boost to Birmingham's side.

"They performed poorly against Swansea last time out and looked short of exciting options going forward, and Montero has the ability to fix this.

"However, he has had plenty of injury struggles of late and it may be too much of a risk to throw him into the deep end against Stoke.

"Clotet should opt to put Montero on the bench from the start against Stoke, with a definite view to bringing him on as and when he can benefit the team most."
