From a position of being in a good place after a solid top-ten Championship finish, the last week has seen dramatic changes at the Liberty Stadium, after Swansea City manager Graham Potter and his backroom staff departed to take up the reins at Brighton, while on the players front, moves are afoot for some of the Swans' prized assets to be plucked from the club.

Swans winger Dan James is on the verge of making the move to Manchester United as reported in the Daily Star, while Sheffield United and Brighton look set to battle it out for the signature of striker Oli McBurnie as reported in the print edition of The Sun (May 19, Page 63).

So should the events of the last week be a real worry for Swansea fans?

We discuss.........

Jacob Potter

"I’d be very concerned.

"McBurnie and James have been Swansea’s best players by some distance this season.

"If you take them out of that team, and with Potter already gone, it doesn’t look good at all.

"They don’t have a considerable amount of funds to throw around to replace them, so I’d be fearing the worst if I was a Swansea supporter."

Ben Lang

"This partnership has been vital to Swansea’s success this season. Their loss would be a massive blow.

"There is a real risk of Swansea’s team now being torn apart following Graham Potter’s departure, and this would send the Swans back to square one after a progressive campaign.

"I think Swansea fans will have already accepted losing James, but McBurnie’s departure would be particularly painful. It also leaves the Swans extremely short of attacking firepower."

George Brooks

"Without a doubt.

"Both players have been highly influential for Swansea in the Championship this season and will be crucial to their success next season.

"It will be very difficult to replace either of them and whoever becomes the new manager at the Liberty Stadium should do everything in their power to persuade them to stay at the club, although that could prove easier said than done."

Gary Hutchinson

“I think so, yes.

“They cut back on the big stars and their fringe players did well in their place.

“Now those fringe players are leaving as well; it doesn’t bode well.

“If I were a Swans fan I wouldn’t be hoping for a top flight return anytime soon.”
