‘I’d be looking to get rid’ – Plenty of Bradford fans have their say on misfiring 28-year-old

Bradford City boss Gary Bowyer believes that winger Sean Scannell is Championship quality, despite the fact he’ll be plying his trade in League Two next season.
Scannell has missed much of the campaign through injury and has been unable to prevent the Bantams slipping out of League One with a whimper. They are the only club to be relegated from the third tier thus far, with Walsall likely to join them this weekend.
Bowyer, who will remain at the club next season, told the Telegraph and Argus that he believed the 28-year-old could play in the Championship and that he hopes he’ll remain with the Bantams to spearhead their attack in the basement division.
Whilst the manager’s words might be a boost to Scannell, the thoughts of some of the fan base might not be. They’ve suffered badly in the last 18 months, watching their club go from aspiring Championship side to bottom of the table.
They’re not agreeing with the manager at all, instead choosing to take to Twitter to question exactly what it is the former Blackpool boss sees in Scannell that’s so exciting.
Here’s the pick of their responses.
Bowyer playing a canny game here. Reading between lines "We want him but he much better than where we are and we can't afford him. Nudge nudge wink wink!" Too injury prone especially for L2 so happy to see him and his wage off the books.

Is he? 16 apps. 0 goals. 0 assists. Hardly set League One on fire.

He's a luxury we can't afford. And he's injury prone.

Not in my book he’s not. End product awful and has he even threatened the goal mouth since joining??

What evidence has he shown enlighten me?? 1 assist in sixteen games at league 1 level doesn’t scream championship quality to me.

Not seen it sorry. We can’t afford to pay players to be in the treatment room however good their reputation.

Hasn’t showing it. Decent Championship players aren’t always injured
