Ben Brereton-Diaz had a brilliant season with Blackburn Rovers last year as he scored 22 goals in 37 Championship appearances.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that there has been plenty of interest surrounding him this summer with a move away from Ewood Park looking to be on the cards.

According to reporter Fabrizio Romano, French outfit Nice have made a €10million bid for the 23-year-old whilst the Guardian have credited Premier League sides Everton and Bournemouth with an interest, whilst Fulham are also keen.

Blackburn are keen to keep hold of their man who has already had an impact this season contributing two goals and an assist.

However, we asked FLW's Blackburn Rovers fan pundit Toby Wilding which move he think would be best for the youngster out of all of those linked: "I'd be going for Nice as the best one for Brereton-Diaz right now.

"Everton struggled to stay in the Premier League last season and Bournemouth, again they too might find it tough this time around having just come up from the Championship and they've been pretty quiet in the transfer window so far meaning that by comparison, Nice do look the best bet for Brereton-Diaz in terms of maybe getting more than just this season playing at top flight level.

"Beyond that, I think that Nice are going to be hoping to make the group stages of the Europa Conference League this season so that obviously means there is more opportunities for Brereton to get game time with more matches to play.

"Also if you look at the standard of Ligue 1 it's probably not quite as high as the Premier League so that also might give him more of an opportunity to settle in and make an impact that could allow him to adjust to playing top flight football and give him the opportunity to move back to the Premier League in years to come so with that in mind I do think that a switch to France could be the best destination for him."

The Verdict:

Given the Premier League clubs credited with interest at Everton and Bournemouth, you'd be inclined to agree with Toby on this one if you're looking at the best long term move.

You can imagine that if Brereton-Diaz went to either Everton or Bournemouth this summer, he could find himself in a struggling side fighting for safety and therefore with rather low morale and potentially low confidence too.

If he was to make the move to France, he would more likely be in a side doing better in their respective competition and therefore may find the adjustment easier to handle.

If he can prove himself in France and continue improving, there's no reason he couldn't then come back to England for a more stable move too.
