A consequence of Luton Town gaining promotion to the Championship this season, is the fact that larger clubs are bound to come looking at the Hatters' star players, as they look to strengthen their own squads this summer.

One player subject of this type of interest is full-back James Justin, who is a target of Aston Villa who are prepared to pay £7.5 million to secure a deal for the defender, as reported on Football Insider.

So how should Villa fans feel about the potential £7.5 million signing of Justin?

We discuss........

Ben Lang

“This is an exciting move. Justin has proven he is a Premier League defender in waiting.

“The fee involved may lead to some Villa fans having doubts, but Justin has been patient waiting for his move and is definitely worth that sort of money.

“Villa could do with some of Justin’s youthful energy at full-back, with the likes of Neil Taylor and Ahmed Elmohamady both now in their thirties.”

Gary Hutchinson

“I’d be excited yet worried.

“Excited because there’s a hugely exciting young talent coming in, one who could net them a fortune at a later date.

“I’d be worried because of the fee.

“Overspending hit them hard a year ago; they need to be cautious with doing the same again.”

George Brooks

"I'm not sure how Villa fans should be feeling about this one. Justin is an exciting young player and has been one of the standout performers for Luton in League One this season.

"He clearly has a lot of potential and could be a good signing for Aston Villa, but on the other hand, £7.5million is a huge amount of money for a player without any Championship experience.

"I'd be surprised to see Villa spend that much money on a full-back and think it will only happen if they win promotion."

Alfie Burns

“They’ll be pleased.

“For too long now Villa have signed the big name players and it has all gone pear-shaped.

“However, Smith is a boss that likes to nurture talent and make them better, and he obviously sees that potential in Justin.

“Justin is a talented lad, and at Villa Park, under the right guidance, he could really make a name for himself.”
