Manchester United face competition from Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool for the signature of young Bristol City defender Lloyd Kelly according to reports in The Sun.

The 6'3" defender has been in fine form for the Robins this season and manager Lee Johnson knows he will do well to hold onto his star man.

So would Kelly be a good signing for Man Utd?

We discuss.....

Jacob Potter

They simply don’t need him.

Jose Mourinho rarely gives young players a chance in the first-team set up for the Red Devils this season and I can’t see Kelly forcing his way into the side ahead of the likes of Ashley Young.

Kelly’s development would be affected through a lack of game time if he moved to Old Trafford.

Alfie Burns

I’m not convinced that this would be good for the player at all.

Kelly’s chance of first-team football at Old Trafford is slim, with Man United not the club they once were when it comes to promoting youth.

It’d be the type of transfer that could stall the defender’s career.

Gary Hutchinson

Not at all.

I’d avoid them like the plague right now.

It’s a terrible atmosphere and the last thing a young player needs is exposure to that.

He’d be better going to Spurs, if he has to go.
