Antoine Semenyo hasn’t had the best of times at Ashton Gate so far this season, having appeared nine times and yet to hit the back of the Robins so far this season.
Still only 19, the best is yet to come from the youngster who was subject of a £2 million bid from Premier League side Chelsea in January, and the youngster has had previous loan experience with National League South side Bath City and League Two outfit Newport County in the past couple of seasons.
The former SGS College student has had it difficult this season with a lack of game-time and being a scapegoat for some Robins supporters, and many now seem to be divided over the talent that the striker has.
Having signed a new four-year contract in the summer and being kept around at Ashton Gate for the first part of the season, it is clear to see that manager Lee Johnson trusts the youngster and sees him as part of the first-team in the south west.
Has Semenyo got the potential to make it in the Championship?
Here, we bring you the best reaction following Lee Johnson’s comments on the 19-year-old striker that seem to have divided the Bristol City fanbase with many split opinions on the forward…
Lee Johnson: "I guarantee you now, if you watch Antoine Semenyo in eight-a-sides, and you were another club, you'd be saying, 'can I write you a cheque for £20m?'" #BristolCity 🔴⚪https://t.co/vz4EBzB0b9

Fully trust @LeeJohnsonCoach to develop him and foster his skills into the first team over the season

Not being funny but we are still waiting for him to actually show this undoubted talent which I'm sure he has. But my question is, how long will it take and how many chances will he need?

Well he’s still only a young guy just needs another serious loan, to make him adapt to the game changes/speed in the championship.

For me its not the talent side, its more the movement and also desire. As a youngster getting his chance I expected much more engery levels and fight. He's young and hopefully will come good!

I’d accept 20 quid

Fans being very harsh on him. He is trying his hardest. I don't see Fam or Rodri running like Weimann either. It isn't simply down to desire. Looked so good away at Preston last season. Not done it yet this season. Still so young.
