Eddie Nketiah rescued a late point for Leeds United as they remained second in the Championship after a 1-1 draw with Preston at Deepdale on Tuesday evening.

The on-loan Arsenal man headed home from close-range to spark jubilant scenes from the travelling Leeds supporters, which has prompted a number of them to voice their eagerness to see Nketiah start regularly.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright took to Twitter to issue a rallying cry to Marcelo Bielsa, and clearly feels as though Nketiah should be starting more games in the future for the Yorkshire-based club.

The goal was Nketiah's fifth goal of the season in all competitions, which makes him Leeds' top goalscorer, despite the forward not starting a league game so far.

The Arsenal loanee has recently voiced his frustrations at his lack of game time in an interview with Sky Sports, and will certainly feel as though he's done all he can to impress Marcelo Bielsa.

It seems as though it's going to be a debate that goes on for the majority of this year's campaign, but the Elland Road faithful will be hoping that recent reports aren't true.

The Sun have claimed that Arsenal are considering calling Nketiah back from his loan spell with the Whites, as they seemingly aren't pleased with his lack of consistent game time so far this season.

Leeds are next in action against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, where they'll be looking to keep the pressure on West Brom at the top of the Championship table.

The Verdict:

I have to agree with Wright here.

Nketiah can't do much more to convince Marcelo Bielsa that he deserves a chance in the starting XI for the next coming games, and he deserves a shot.

He's scored more than Patrick Bamford in half the amount of games which tells you enough, and it would be a ludicrous decision for Bielsa not to start him against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend.
