Excitement is growing at Leeds United, as Marcelo Bielsa’s side prepare themselves for a return to training in the coming week.

Leeds sit top of the Championship table and pushing for a Premier League return for the first time since the 2003/04 season.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side haven’t kicked a ball since the first weekend of March, however, with the Whites stopped in their tracks at a time when promotion wasn’t a million miles away.

Now, a return to action feels closer, with plans being put in place for Leeds’ squad to return to training.

Individual sessions have been taking place, with Stuart Dallas sharing a picture of him running at Thorp Arch.

And, in response to that, Ian Poveda has shared a message, clearly unable to contain his excitement as the season’s resume draws closer:

When the season can resume, Leeds have nine games to seal promotion back to the Premier League.

They sit top of the table, a point clear of West Brom, but, more importantly, hold a seven-point advantage over Fulham, who hold the biggest threat to the top-two at this stage.

The Verdict

It’s been a terrible two months and like a lot of football fans, Leeds’ players will be desperate for the sport’s return.

Dallas is by far one of the hardest workers in Bielsa’s squad, and it is little surprise to see him pushing himself hard to get back as fit as possible.

For Poveda, his role has been non-existent so far, but given his excitement and clearly positive attitude, he might be ready to hit the ground running.
