Bristol Rovers club legend Ian Holloway has revealed the dream for his boyhood club, where he started his playing and management career.

During his playing career, Holloway made 397 league appearances for the Gas, scoring 41 league goals from midfield across three seperate spells before heading into club management with the club he supports, taking charge of them for 247 games between May 1996 and January 2001 before leaving for QPR.

Now on Twitter in an Q&A, Holloway has revealed that his dream as a manager, if he was in charge of an EFL club with unlimited funds, would be to take charge of Bristol Rovers and take them up to the Premier League.

At this moment in time, Bristol Rovers supporters can only dream of a journey to the English top flight under any manager, let alone it being one of their own who has a dream of one day being the man to do it.

However, Rovers could be in for a surprise season near the top of EFL League One as the likes of Jonson-Clarke Harris (though now injured) up front and centre-back Alfie Kilgour lead the surge toward the playoffs for Graham Coughlan's men.

The Verdict:

Any manager around the world, no matter what club they're at, could just dream of having unlimited funds at their disposal, least of all it being with their own boyhood club who gave them a shot at playing and managing at the start of their careers.

Holloway's heart will always be with Bristol Rovers no matter what club he's at, and the 56-year-old probably dreams of being in the dugout at The Memorial Stadium again.
