Ian Holloway has stated that Leeds are the real deal despite their 3-3 draw with Cardiff on Saturday.

The Whites will be livid with themselves after throwing away a three goal lead on Saturday. It was looking comfortable for Marcelo Bielsa's side, but the Bluebirds managed to create a historic comeback that shocked Elland Road.

Leeds remain 10 points clear of third placed Preston which means that they're currently well on track to achieve promotion to the Premier League.

Next up for the Whites is Fulham at Craven Cottage, with Leeds knowing a win there would be massive due to it inflicting a loss on one of their main promotion rivals.

Holloway has expressed that they will be very upset after the game but he still thinks that they are the real deal this season.

Speaking on EFL on Quest, Holloway said: “They will all feel very upset because you’re 3-0 up half-way through the second half you think you’re going to win.

“Let me tell you, if they had lost that game, that would have started some rumblings but they didn’t and I think they are the real deal.”

The Verdict

Holloway is right, and they do look the real deal this season. It's been tough for them over previous seasons, and the key this time around is how they bounce back from something mentally challenging such as this result.

To be 3-0 up and in control, it looked like only one team was going to come away from Elland Road with any points. They have to find a way to not lot the fan pressure get to them, as if they drop into the play-offs before the end of the season, you worry it could have a big effect on their ambition.

Bielsa will know what to do, but in terms of confidence, that is up to the players and they must make sure that the result does not effect them.
